My family and I have been going to Big Dude's since the 70s when it was called the Pro Shop. Things have changed somewhat and we see different employee's but one thing has never changed the service is excellent and the people are kind.
Music stores have come and gone here in Kansas City for some unfortunate reason and some of them were top notch. They need to be here for the serious musician and vice versa the serious musician for them or it won't work out for either.
For one I've been a musician since the early 70s and Big Dude's would always help me find the right gear for my project.
One might classify me as a street musician because I play some of my gigs up at the plaza. Here's some of the gear that I use, The Pulse 14 inch Piccolo snare, The Schalloch Bongos(red) and The Pulse Bongos (two-tone). These three drums are not used at the same gig, I only use one at any given time it's kind of a feeling thing with me, now that said. Here's my full set drums that I use in my recording studio and other things that I do, The Roland Trap TD5 and The Pearl Forum. Last but not least I like nylon tipped drum sticks the best.
Here's another good thing about them if you know of a store that is selling the same brand new gear cheaper Big Dude's will meet that price.Down to earth prices! You can't beat that.
